WalkingHotSpot is an application for Windows Mobile which will turn your handset into a WiFi hotspot. The application was created by TapRoot Systems and the company received a 2008 Consumer Technology Company of the Year at the North Carolina Technology Association 21 Awards.
With WalkingHotSpot you will be able to tether your smartphone which means you will be able to go online using your unlimited data plan for your handset straight from your laptop or desktop. The application is quite useful so you should get it already. Besides Windows Mobile, WalkingHotSpot will work fine on Symbian handsets too.
"The 2008 NCTA 21 awards was by far our most competitive with an outstanding list of finalists and a group of award recipients who distinguished themselves through outstanding achievement and superior performance," said Brooks Raiford, president and chief executive officer of NCTA. "I congratulate TapRoot Systems, for receiving an NCTA 21 Award and for the passion to lead, innovate and create."

I am trying WalkingHotSpot on my 8525 and while I have gotten it to work, it's not consistent for me. I have tried it with both Vista and Mac OSX. Can't get the make to work, the Vista laptop will connect, then not. I have to admit their tech support is first-rate and have extended the trial period for me, but still not stable enough, in my opinion with my situation. The price is good, though!
