The Nokia N97 is here, well not really as yet but come next year all you NSeries multimedia junkies will be more than happy if what inFoSync has to say bares fruit.

Yesterday I reported that Nokia has something big in the pipeline, today I'm shocked when I understand it's a phone, Nokia usually doesn't showcase the big guns at their Nokia World 2008 summit. Fans of the NSeries would be very much so disappointed in Nokia's actions as just recently they launched the N96 and to now announce the N97 not long after is just pure blasphemy, allot of people who bought a N96 would look at this as a waste of money and rightfully so.

Nokia N97 Prototype

I should also point out before I go any further that the Nokia N97 is a prototype device, many things could change before the official launch so don't get too excited just yet young Jedi.

inFoSync got their sweaty palms on a N97 before it even got announced in Barcelona, lucky guys. From what I can tell, the author seemed very pleased with the device in its prototype stage; it will feature the new Series 60 5th Edition Symbian OS like the Nokia 5800, you will be able to pack the home screen with widgets to web services which is very cool if you are the type who uses the internet religiously. Another important thing I need to point out is the inclusion of Flash Lite 3.0 and Flash Video so watching YouTube should be a breeze, and if it is anything like the E71 then the phone would be able to reformat the videos to fit the screen.

Nokia N97 Prototype

Sadly inFoSync didn't get to test out the browser which is a real disappointment, but considering it's a prototype I'll let it slide this time. If you take a good look at the N97's keyboard it has a striking resemblance to the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet, hopefully it works just as well.
