Today the OHA announced the inclusion of 14 new members, but the one that really stands out from the pack of wolves is AsusTek. A while back, some analysts dude was going around claiming that Google has invited Asus to the OHA, Asus is working on an Android device that will bare the sacred and well known EEE branding, now all speculation aside as it turned out to be true as I expected.
It's not quite sure what Asus is planning for Android, some say an Android based Netbook or just a downright Smartphone, but I'm going on the lines of both. I believe if Asus focuse on both an Android phone and Netbook, such a move would benefit them in more ways than one, well it is obvious isn't it? I for one has fallen head over heels with Asus Netbooks the first time I tried one out, so you bet I'mma get my sweaty palms on one that is based on Android.
OK, enough of the Asus rambling, Google where are the likes of AT&T and Verizon Wireless in that 14 new OHA member line-up? Sprint and T-Mobile alone cannot give Android the boosts it needs to topple the competition in the US market. Sprint is like the Eiffel tower all bent outta shape, soon it will likely fall to its doom if the Clearwire WiMAX deal slumps under LTE.
T-Mobile, well these guys are small and have allot of promise, unlike Sprint though, T-Mobile are not falling like bombs from the sky, pigs to the slaughter etc, but they are still not good enough for Android to compete in a more meaningful way. Whichever way you throw it, Google needs AT&T and Verizon so I say it's full time for Google to do some sucking up before it's too late for the little green bot.
