Ever thought of downloading a 700MB file in under a minute using your mobile? Well that is the kind of speed LG Electronics are promising with their new LTE chip.

LG LTE

Gone are the days when your mobile phone was only used for making phone calls and sending text messages to your girlfriend or boyfriend, these days if you live in the best part of the world which is Japan and China when it comes to mobile phone tech, then you can see whoever you be talking to right on your phone screen via video call.

The Internet on mobile phones is the biggest leap though, and if LTE can deliver on the promised high speed Internet and not turn out to be a flop like 3G, then it's safely to say move over ADSL and Cable Broadband. Mobile phone and electronic manufacture LG, has unveiled their first LTE chip which they promise will have you panning around the Internet faster than a jack rabbit, but of course all that will be dependent on the network and the power of your hardware.

The LG chip was tested on a Windows Mobile device clocking at 60MB down and 20MB up in real world testing as claimed, users could even be able to stream four 1080p HD movies at the same time, cool. Since I'm not expecting any network except for those in Japan, China, Korea and others in Asia to have these speeds available, this doesn't mean too much to me, still cool though.
