Dec 17 Synchronize AOL E-Mail with Your Pocket PC handheld
Found in:Tips,
Pocket PCs are designed to sync e-mail on a Windows PC with Microsoft Outlook, an application that ships with all Pocket PCs. Microsoft Outlook can be set up on a Windows PC to check one or more e-mail accounts. When Outlook downloads new e-mail messages from a server, those messages are synced with a Pocket PC during the next synchronization via ActiveSync.
AOL users do have an option for syncing their AOL e-mail with their Pocket PC, however. The solution is a third-party software plug-in called OneMail. With OneMail, you can set ActiveSync to download AOL e-mail from a particular screenname and sync it with your Pocket PC.
To get started, you must first download OneMail and install it on your Windows PC.
After OneMail is installed, sync your Pocket PC with your PC via ActiveSync. Allow the synchronization process to complete. Once fully synced, use the toolbar in ActiveSync on your Windows PC and select Options > Settings. In the "Settings" menu, make sure that the box to the left of "OneMail" is checked.
Now, disconnect your Pocket PC from its connection to your Windows PC and reconnect. Now, upon syncing, you'll get a setup screen on your PC to configure OneMail to connect with your AOL account.

Enter your AOL Screenname and password and click "OK."
Your AOL e-mail from the screenname you selected will sync with your Pocket PC each time you connect with ActiveSync.
You can access this mail on your Pocket PC by opening the Messaging application. On the top left-hand side of the Messaging screen, tap "Inbox" and select "AOLMail."
