We've been playing around with Microsoft's plans for a cell phone for quite a while. Is it a Zune phone? Is it a different phone? Will it arrive at the CES 2009? Will it use Windows Mobile or anything other OS?
Roz Ho happens to manage a team of 500 people over at Microsoft and she is in charge of a "project pink" or the "Zune Phone". That's how everyone around the Internet found out that the Zune Phone isn't coming out at this CES. Unfortunately we won't see an iPhone competitor being launched next month. The Zune phone is likely to be launched later next year. Probably summer or before Christmas. It looks like Microsoft isn't in a rush at all.
That means we're going to see only Windows 7 at CES 2009 but not a Zune phone. And we were really anxious to see the first Microsoft phone. What can we do but wait it out?
