Every jack and jill are coming up with their own User Interface for Windows Mobile, HTC began the trend and now i-mate are in on the action.

i-mate, one of the many Windows Mobile manufactures are developing their own User Interface for the retro like Microsoft OS, many folks such as myself welcome these User Interfaces on the Windows Mobile platform as currently they are highly needed to get the most out of any Windows Mobile device. Like HTC Touch Flo 3D, Sony Ericsson Xperia Panels, Samsung Touch Wizz, and Asus Glide, i-mate's User Interface will be all about touch and ease of use.

The new UI will be called i-mate Go, it is based on the VITO Winterface which features large colorful icons which for obvious reasons reminds me of the dreaded iPhone. I have nothing against the iPhone, I just don't want something on my Windows Mobile device that looks too similar to the iPhone, something needs to change where that is concerned.

i-mate GO will be shipped with new i-mate Windows Mobile devices next year, but owners of the Ultimate 9502, Ultimate 8502, Ultimate 8150, Ultimate 6150 and JAMA 101 models can download the new UI, so no need to pay extra to sample this thing.
