The world largest mobile manufacturer has came under fire, literally speaking here, it appears Nokia has ticked off the Indian community due to a mishap in Nokia Maps.

Angry Mob

The big problem here is, well it's kinda small from my point of view, but considering the tension between India and Pakistan at the moment, while not supported, it is understandable. Nokia done the unthinkable and and listed Kashmir in Nokia Maps as apart of Pakistan, which is then seen as an insult to members of India’s Bharatiya Janata Party.

Youngsters from the BJP got really ticked off and raided a Nokia store in Jabalpur City, where they proceeded to grab Nokia phones and setting them ablaze for all to see. One member of the BJP came out saying, Nokia Maps was “a case of anti-nationalism. We demanded that the Nokia and other people involved in the conspiracy be booked for spreading anti-national activities. We will intensify the protest if this case has not been registered.”

It doesn't end there, the store owner wasted no time coming out with the following comment, "This is the problem of Nokia and we are not concerned with it as we are merely shop owners, not the client of the company. But, the manner in which the mob entered and started torching the shop is bad,” said Rafiq Khan, the Nokia showroom owner." Ouch, Nokia just got burnt, again. Lets hope Nokia quickly rectifies this problem before these people take the fight right there in Finland where Nokia is based.
