I hope other network operators are taking notice, China Mobile has slashed Mobile Internet fees at up to a whopping 70% in many areas across the great land, this move has been done in hopes that the demand of Smartphone's will be lifted tremendously. I have no doubts that China Mobile will meet their goal, after all, they do have over 600 million subscribers on their network at the moment and a move like this will likely boosts that number.

"The lower data traffic and the coming 3G will enrich the wireless functions and make some applications affordable, like mobile TV," said Deng Yuqiang, chief executive of 3G.cn.

The new data rates have kicked off in Shanghai, Beijing and Tianjin as well as Jiangsu and Hubei provinces. It's good to see a Carrier stepping up to the plate and taking the Mobile Internet more seriously, now let's sit back and see if other Carriers around the world are taking heed.
