Many Germans remember Grundig as synonymous with high quality German products like TV sets, radios, etc. These days are long gone: in meantime Grundig went bankrupt and it was overtaken by an Asian company.Grundig are to release the HTC Universal (AKA SPV M5000, O2 XDA Exec and alike) as the Grundig GR980. It is the same colour as the SPV M5000, the only difference being the keyboard which which is silver instead of black.

Now Grundig is releasing HTC Universal - a 3G phone made by HTC in Taiwan - as its own product! Moreover Grundig is pretending that it is their own product...
