So who would have guessed Nokia would start the New Year by asking retailers to pull all Nokia N810 Internet Tablet Wi-MAX Edition off shelves? The pulling means Nokia will discontinue manufacturing of the device and support all together, but if you already have a Wi-MAX Tablet, you need not worry because the Maemo team will certainly keep it updated for a bit while longer.
Industry pundits have been pointing fingers saying it is the fault of Wi-MAX and the slow building out of the network in the United States, so far only two cities boasts the Wi-MAX speed gains and those are Baltimore and Portland. Nokia hasn't come out and issue a real statement on the matter of why, all they had to say was that it is normal for Nokia to discontinue old products, if that is the case then why not discontinue the normal N810? Keep it lock here at MobileTopSoft for more info as it arises.
