So Palm's new OS and phone is out of the woodworks so to speak, everyone including myself were surprised at what Palm have brought to the table but it doesn't end there.

Palm Pre

Looking at a phone as stunning and powerful as the Palm Pre, you'd expect a high price, then again you'd probably expect Palm to have the Pre retail for prices along the lines of the iPhone to be more competitive, well if the second guess is your choice then you could very well be out of luck. It is said that the Palm Pre will retail exclusively on the Sprint Network for $399 ands since Sprint is a CDMA network, the Palm Pre won't see the light of day in the palms of most die-hard fans.

Fret not thought, for I bring you good news and a bit of a bad news. There will be a GSM version of the Palm Pre but it will not be hitting Carriers and store shelves until the middle of the year, the rumored price for the GSM Pre is said to be along the lines of $500-$550, very steep for the pockets again.

The new OS running in the Pre is called WebOS, and from what I can tell from the amount of work put into it, this could be the last chance Palm has to regain their good name and some needed market share from its competitors. Let us hope it does not fail and fall into limbo until the end of days.
