Pharos has recently launched the Traveler 137, a touchscreen Windows Mobile-powered smartphone that will work on T-Mobile USA's 1700MHz 3G band.

Specifications of the new smartphone, to be released within the first quarter of the year, are as follows:

  • Qualcomm MSM7201A 65nm 528MHz Processor
  • Tri-band AWS 1700/1900/2100MHz, UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA: 384K/7.2M/2M bits per sec
  • Quad-band 850/900/1800/1900MHz, GSM/GPRS/EDGE
  • 3.5" WVGA 480 x 800, 65K color TFT LCD with touch panel
  • 256MB RAM and 512MB flash ROM
  • Built-in GPS, WIFI, Bluetooth, FM radio
  • 3-megapixel main camera; 0.3-megapixel secondary camera for video conference
  • Expansion via microSD card
  • Talk time: up to 4 hours; 200 hours of standby via a 1380mAh Li-Ion battery

Downsides include zero support for the 850MHz 3G band of AT&T, no 3.5mm headset jack and a "short" talk time of four hours.

Suggested retail price will be $599.95, unlocked.
