Nokia is indeed joining the Green bandwagon, brandishing an N79 variant dubbed N79 Eco which will be sold sans a charger and with less wrapping and packaging.

The N79 Eco hopes to encourage users to recycle their chargers. Nokia will also be throwing in three free Xpress-on covers for each N79 unit sold.

This green phone package will help Nokia lessen or reduce the amount of paper and water used in packaging, as well as economic costs such as transport and printing.

The N79 Eco will be be sold in Britain for 319 GBP.

Nokia will also donate 4 GBP or about $6 to the World Wildlife Fund for each handset purchase.
