After a long wait, Android fanboys can finally hit up the Android Market and download a true 3rd party browser, can't say the same for the iPhone fanatics.

Opera Mini Logo

The beta tag on Opera Mini 4.2 for Android has fallen and the browser is now ready for public consumption, many missing features that never made it into the beta has been thrown into the current version to make it on par with Opera Mini for other platforms. New features are, uploading and downloading files through the browser, saving files to SD Card, save webpages for offline viewing, and the ability to play Flash videos. (Videos are actually rerouted to Android default video player)

If you want a good reason to use Opera Mini 4.2 instead of Android default browser, then take into consideration that Opera Mini is faster, pages are rendered with the help of Opera servers so even if you're stranded with a measly GPRS connection, page load times will be sufficient.

Check the Android Market now for your Opera Mini fixtation.
