Acer appears to be deadset in joining the smartphone market, with a UK online store leaking out photos and specs of the first Acer smartphone, the DX900, and started accepting pre-orders for the price of 454.25 British pounds.

According to Clove Technology, the DX900 will also be the world's first dual-SIM smartphone powered Windows Mobile.

Features include: Windows Mobile 6.1, UMTS/HSDPA, Bluetooth, WIFI, microSD expansion slot, 2.8" VGA Display, three-megapixel main camera, VGA-quality front camera, GPS receiver, and TV-out.

Acer is set to formally announce the DX900 at a major industry event in Barcelona later this month.

Right now, the only major manufacturers that have rolled out dual-SIM phones are Samsung and Philips but their offerings are not of the smartphone type.
