Microsoft is ready to launch that cloud service called SkyBox at MWC in Spain. Everything should be on track but the name of the service seems to have been change to MyPhone. MyPhone will be Microsoft's official cloud service for Windows Mobile phones and it will go into a private beta sometime soon.
The MyPhone site went live ahead of its time and the beta will be done by invitation only. I guess we'll all find out how those invitations will be sent out at the MWC next week. In the mean time here's what people can expect from MyPhone:
- Keep their information backed up if they lose or break their phones.
- Transition information if they switch to new phones.
- Access the same information from their phone or PC.
Additional information about the service can be found here: www.windowsmobile.com/myphone. We'll keep you posted on the development of MyPhone once Microsoft will officially announce it.
