I have repeatedly stated that 2009 is the year of the Android, and now it appears I wasn't speaking a bunch of worthless crap, how about that.

It seems the OHA members are secretly planning an outburst of Android devices this year, according to Softpedia, we could see the invasion of up to 40 Android devices coming out of the pipeline this year alone, if true, then Android is definitely on the verge of becoming a successful mobile OS. German network operator O2 has let slipped that they wish to release 6 to 8 Android handsets this year alone, I'm not sure if all will be dubbed smartphones, as Android is flexible enough to work out on a dumb phone.

40 Android handset in 2009 alone is good for Google and the OHA, but all I really hope for is some significant features, nothing similar to the HTC G1, not everyone finds it intriguing on buying something that obviously has a Beta tag.
