SonyEricsson launched on Sunday night in Barcelona, Spain a new handset called the W995 which promises users "video on the go" and reinforcing the company's reputation as a leader in mobile entertainment.

The Sunday press conference came on the eve of the formal opening of the Mobile World Congress of the GSM Association also at the Spanish capital of Barcelona.

It is no surprise that the company describes the W995 as "the ultimate mobile phone" as it boasts of a complete suite of functions that enables users to watch news, music and programs, capture high quality video, and play good music.

The W995 is the standard bearer of the new Media Go application which lets users "effortlessly and automatically transfer any audio, photos and videos between your phone and computer" and to "find podcasts with exciting content easily from the directory – just two clicks and you're away, and watch the action in all its glory on the bright clear screen."

Media Go promises desktop quality video and audio for the discriminate users.

SonyEricsson also said that the W995's 8.1-megapixel camera produces very high quality prints of up to A3 size.
