It has been confirmed by Ebay the owners of Skype, that the best free VOIP application is coming to Nokia Series 40 and 60 and Sony Ericsson handsets in the near future, no solid date has been given but expect Nokia Nseries handsets to come with Skype preinstalled in the 3rd quarter. Sony Ericsson users may have to wait a bit longer before the application becomes standard on all handsets, but if you own a Xperia X1, you can download it here.
Currently the future of Skype hangs in the balance as Ebay has no real use for it, but it could get a much needed boosts if Google or Microsoft chooses to buy it from Ebay, time will tell.
