The contest asked students "to design, prototype and showcase new ideas for future mobile games".
The two winning games were:
- 'Weekness' by the team from US-based Parsons The New School for Design composed of Drew Cogbill, Yumi Endo and Rabia Malik; and
- 'MooLan' by The Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences, Hagenberg with members Michael Holzl and Bernhard Aufreiter.
Forum Nokia said the two winning teams be given tickets to the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco slated on March 23-27.
According to Dr Mark Ollila, Director of Technology and Strategy and Head of Games Publishing at Nokia, the "games were judged on criteria including entertainment value, creativity and usability".
"This kind of competition really showcases the raw talent of our next-generation of mobile games developers and provides an insight into the potential of our industry," he added.
