During a 6 months period from August 2008 to February 2009, iPhone OS and Android has gained market shares while the others lost in big heavy chunks. August 2008 Apple's iPhome OS had a meager 10% market share but as the days swiftly goes by that changed into 50% as of February 2009. Android also got some market share goodness, it grew from nothing to 5% which makes it very close behind Palm and Windows Mobile which both have a 7% and 13% market share respectively.
If this trend continues we could see the iPhone and all Android handsets combined dominating the mobile space while leaving Windows Mobile, BlackBerry and Palm to battle for the left over crumbs.
