It now seems as if Android is not so open after a tethering application has been yanked by Google from the Android Market. Die Google Die!!!

Android Phone

Google recently pulled a tethering application from the Android Market called Wi-Fi Tether For Root Users. Google allegedly pulled the app citing distribution agreements with silly carriers, but the last time I checked Android was the pinnacle of Google's plan to get Wireless Carriers to open their network to whatever and now they are sucking up. Below is the official statement which gets me burning mad every time I see it.

″Google enters into distribution agreements with device manufacturers and Authorized Carriers to place the Market software client application for the Market on Devices. These distribution agreements may require the involuntary removal of Products in violation of the Device manufacturer's or Authorized Carrier's terms of service" Google Developer Distribution Agreement″

Let us see if developers are going to fight back with some form of boycott plan of the Android Market and make apps available on other clients such as SlideMe.
