Samsung Holds the Omnia Brand Exclusively for Windows Mobile If you have grown to love your Omnia handset from Samsung then you should know that its maker has decided to reserve the brand exclusively for Windows Mobile devices. What does that mean? Well for one thing it means that the new Omnia HD which has just passed through the FCC will be referred to as the i8910. Which in turn means that the handset formerly known as the Omnia HD will be wearing a different operating system.

The phone will run on Symbian instead of the regular Windows Mobile and it will not be an Android handset as some people hoped. Some of its most interesting features will be that 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and HD recording. That's right, since it's an HD screen it should very well record video. And it does.

And there's just one more important conclusion following Samsung's decision to keep the Omnia brand for Windows Mobile only handsets. That's right, more Omnia devices should follow soon. What do you think? Excited?
