Taking full center stage today is an application called PinPoint Locations, the name alone shows that this is all about GPS and locating locations, I hope I made sense just now. On a serious not, PinPoint is basically another travel companion application that takes advantage of Skyhooks GPS Location Based Service by creating bookmarks of your favorite locations and if you get lost, there is a compass available to help get you back. It might not seem like much but for people who travel allot this is a big deal, no one wants to get lost in the Safari desert.
The brains behind PinPoint is a development studio called CRG Studios, and the lead developer had some kind words to say about Skyhook's GPS technology. Here is what lead developers Colin Godsey had to say: "Because people rely on my app to find their way back to bookmarked spots, it is essential that location is completely accurate. Native Android location is not satisfactory, and only Skyhook can ensure that users are not left lost or confused." Colin Godsey sums it perfectly, if you want your GPS location based application to perform as how you would like, then the what is available in the Android SDK cannot cut it, right now it's either Skyhook ir nothing.
So there we go yet again folks, another Android application has bite the dust and fell all crazy in love with Skyhook.
