Pictures (not photos, mind you) have popped up of what may be an upcoming smartphone by E-TEN called the G500. Sporting a 400MHz Samsung processor, 64MB RAM/128MB ROM, 1.3 megapixel camera with flash, quad-band GSM, miniSD slot and a 2.8-inch QVGA screen, this model would seem to be very similar to the M600 other than the replacement of WiFi with SiRFstar III GPS. Unfortunately the screencaps seem to indicate a lack of WM5 (PPC Phone Edition here), but we'll wait to pass judgement until we see an official announcement or a G500 in the wild.

The technical characteristics of the G500 resume those of the recent M600, therefore like the design that factor recalls forms and dimensions of last Pocket PC Phone of E-TEN. The G500 will be equipped of a display with dimensions from 2,8"with resolution QVGA. Characteristic remaining sees the presence of:

Display from 2.8” LCD TFT (64K color) – 320 x 240

Camera CMOS from 1.3M with Flash


Unfortunately, the new G500 will be unprovided of Wi-Fi and the necessity to integrate receiver GPS in the advanced part of the device has carried to the movement of the slot of expansion of the ignition key on the left side.

The device would have to arrive on the market for the end of March. Information are still not had on the price.
