As you are already aware Nokia has finally released its flagship phone, the N97 and the smartphone is now available now in various countries. While it's not going to be a hit in the USA where carriers are more concerned to launch iPhone-like or BlackBerry-like smartphones, Europeans and not only will find this device more than useful.
The video below shows us how the Compass works in Nokia N97. Simply go to Nokia Maps and click on the Compass. After calibration, which is basically moving the phone around for about a minute or so, you will be able to use as long there's a strong signal. The Compass will always turn the map to match the correct orientation. You will always know where you're going if you pass the calibration process, which seems seriously annoying. If you're not in a hurry and have some time to wave the phone in the air then you're not going to get lost in any new area with decent data coverage.
