LG which is the #1 phone manufacture world wide is gunning for 2nd place and the head of the Apple iPhone, things will get really interesting over the next 2 and a half years.

I am not a big fan of LG products but if what they are saying about releasing a phone that is codenamed "Black Label" which is expected to do battle with the iPhone.

*in Q4 LG will launch a new “Black label” series phone, which will be positioned to compete with the iPhone

*LG is pretty happy with their luxury “Prada” phone line and is working on another Prada handset

*LG also has a plan to move even deeper into a luxury cellphone market, by creating its own extreme premium brand, “similar to Toyota’s Lexus and Nokia’s Vertu”

Samsung and Nokia better watch their backs, or better yet, watch their market share and make sure it doesn't fall prey to the blood thirsty LG. On a serious note, I doubt they will ever become #2 in 2yrs, they would have to do something remarkable with that "Black Label" phone.
