Google Android next known as Android 2.0 or just Donut for short is looking tastier than its name. Some things that should have been in the G1 from the beginning will finally step up to the plate.

First thing that needs to be mentioned is that Android 2.0 aka Donut will bring to the platform the long awaited multitouch feature, now users can put those capacitive touch displays to better use. Other things to look forward to is universal search and text to speech, all of which you can see in action within this demo. If you own a HTC G1 then you'd be glad to know that the XDA-Developers are working on a build of Donut for your handset to keep a keen eye out for that you should.

Not to be outdone by all the cool features coming out in the Donut upgrade, Android will also support CDMA which is a good thing if the platform should ever take off in a significant way in the United States.
