RIM actually acquired Torch Mobile, these are the guys behind the Iris Browser, you might have heard of it before yes? The Browser is based on the very popular WebKit rendering engine so it should perform up to the standards of the default Android Broswer and Safari on the iPhone as both these Browsers are WebKit based. RIM can finally realize their dream of getting Flash and Silverlight to partner up and make skipping through the Internet a joy on BlackBerry handsets.
What I would like to know is this, when Iris ships on future BB handsets, what will happen to the Windows Mobile version? Will RIM force Torch Mobile to seize development or continue?
