Palm's first webOS phone, the Pre, has been quite popular and although not able to become the serious iPhone competitor Palm wanted it to be, it still brought in lots of cash for both Sprint and Palm. That's why it's just a little too surprising to hear that Verizon, one of the rumored future Pre carriers, doesn't want the phone anymore.
The Pre is currently a Sprint exclusive and it looks like it will remain a Sprint exclusive even more if Verizon won't start selling it next January. The word on the street is that Verizon will get a few Pres but it won't invest in heavily marketing the phone. Apparently Verizon is not too happy with Pre's performance so far and Palm's App Catalog which would't fit very well with Verizon's VCast service. As always, no official statements have been made so if you happen to be one of Big Red's customers and you like the Pre, you'll have to keep your fingers crossed a couple of months and hope for the best.
