The European Commission is known for not being frightened to take radical decision but the following ruling could influence the entire mobile business in Europe. It seems that a few iPhones have gone ahead and exploded in various countries in Europe. Not only is that bad for business but the European Commission is now asking for specific details about those explosions and Apple has to answer.
The Commission has apparently warned Apple that it's prepared to ban the iPhone from European countries if the device poses a threat to the health of the owners. That would be a significant blow for Apple but we're probably not going to get there. What will certainly happen is for Apple to raise its voice as those responsible for making and testing the iPhones. Apple surely doesn't want to lose the entire European market and it will officially respond to the European Commission soon. It can't afford not to answer and we're definitely interested as to why these iPhones have exploded in the first place. Has you iPhone or iPod touch been acting strange lately?
