Cyanogen Android ROM Modder Agrees with Google but Will Not Stop You surely must recall that cease-and-desist letter which Google happened to send to that popular Cyanogen Android ROM modder. Google's actions have been met with resentment from Cyanogen fans but they should not worry. It looks like Cyanogen is not going down as some of you might have initially believed.

The modder agreed with Google when it came to Google's not open source applications like Google Maps or Gmail which he included in various versions of Android. He will therefore stop distributing those but the modified ROM versions will be still available. So how would one be able to enjoy all those Google apps on a Cyanogen Android ROM? Well let's just say that the developer is going to work on a new app which will let users install Google's apps on the modded Android version only after the Cyanogen ROM has been installed on the phone. Technically he won't be doing anything wrong as he won't insert those apps in future modded ROMs. It's up to Google now to try to fight this. But seriously Google, is it really worth going to all that trouble?
