Microsoft to Make Marketplace Available for Windows Mobile 6.1 in November? One of the most important additions to the Windows Mobile universe is probably the Windows Marketplace. We have talked about it in the past while observing Microsoft's progress with its new app store. And now that Windows Mobile 6.5 is closing in the Marketplace will inevitably catch most of the headlines.

But what will happen to everyone else not willing to purchase a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone yet? When will they have access to the marvels of the Marketplace? It seems that Microsoft has a Phase 2 development process scheduled for November for the Marketplace in which Windows Mobile 6.0 and Windows Mobile 6.1 devices will be given access to the newest app store. And this is all officially coming from Microsoft's own Todd Brix. In fact, he went on to mention even more stuff about the future of Marketplace:

"In addition, this second phase will bring the PC based catalog and shopping experience, user generated app reviews, advanced key-based anti-piracy protection and other enhancements that expand your business opportunity and make it easier for a larger number of customers to find and buy your application."
