Bell has a brand new plan meant to increase sales over the following months. The carrier is particularly interesting in promoting its newest HSPA network and upcoming HSPA phones and therefore is willing to unlock new HSPA phones 30 days after activation.
Sure there are certain terms and conditions that do apply! The customers:
-Must have an active account that is greater than 30 days old
-Will still be responsible for their contract
-Will be charged a one-time fee on their monthly bill.
In other words, you can go ahead and purchase a new smartphone for a subsidized priced. 30 days after activation you can solicit to have your phone unlocked and then use it with any other SIM card you want. Unfortunately you will still have to keep your Bell HSPA plan active and won't be able to get out of that contract without paying some serious early termination fees. Furthermore, the whole unlocking deal is available if you're willing to pay a rumored fee of up to $250.
Now that you know how everything works, you can go ahead and grab a new HSPA phone from Bell!
