Vodafone is the first carrier to announce RIM's newest BlackBerry smartphone. What's even stranger is that Verizon Wireless, Vodafone's brother in arms, hasn't announced the Storm 2 yet.
The phone should be available in 8 Vodafone markets soon, 7 Europeans: UK, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, France, Spain and South Africa. Prices haven't been made available for each market yet but the Storm 2 is apparently going to be available in stores starting with October 26. You can check back with your local Vodafone representative and ask around about pre-orders. You might be able to already book your Storm 2! And let's take a look at Storm's features now as everything is now officially official:
-3.25-inch 360 x 480 capacitive touchscreen display
-SurePress feedback technology
-Quad-band EDGE/GPRS/GSM
-UMTS/HSPA connectivity
-WiFi 802.11b/g
-3.2-megapixel camera with zoom, autofocus, flash and video recording
-256MB of Flash memory
-2GB of onboard memory upgradeable up to 16/32GB microSD/SDHD cards
-3.5 mm stereo jack
-Bluetooth 2.1
