How to Enable MMS on Your iPhone 2G? In case you still happen to own one of the first iPhone 2G phones released by Apple then you're probably interested in how to enable MMS support on it. Luckily for you we have an answer for you today. In fact, it's quite easy to make MMS run on your original iPhone as there's no hardware limitation to prevent it.

This comes to prove that if Apple would have wanted it, MMS support could have been easily added from the first-gen iPhone. But there's no point remembering why people weren't completely satisfied with that first generation iPhone, is it? So here are the steps you need to make to bring MMS to your iPhone 2G:

1. Backup original CommCenter (goes without saying...)
2. Replace CommCenter in: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/ with a patched one.
3. Chmod the new CommCenter to 755
4. Open /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/M68AP.plist and insert a true boolean value for "mms" under capabilities

If all that sounds too risky for you then you can also consider running an application called ActivateMMS2G. But for that application you'd need a jailbroken iPhone 2G which is also a risky move. In case you do go on with this MMS hack, then let us know how it all worked out for you!
