In case you love Nokia's latest Internet tablet, the N900 then I have some bad news for you. The phone will be available only later this year as Nokia has pushed it back to November.
According to Nokia's Peter Schneider, head of Maemo marketing, the phone "will start shipping during November 2009." Is there something wrong with the N900? Should we avoid the phone and wait for the rumored N920 instead? The N900 is definitely a hot phone and, if successful, it could bring Nokia back in the game. Nokia's latest phones, the N97 and the 5800 XpressMusic didn't perform as expected despite being some very dependable handsets.
From what we can gather so far it looks like Nokia didn't like the feedback it received so far. The Finnish company lent 300 pre-production N900 units to consumers and they didn't respond very well. Nokia hasn't revealed any specifics but there's definitely something wrong with the N900. Instead of launching the Internet tablet this month as expected and having to recall it later, Nokia is taking the more careful path. We'll be keeping tabs on actual release dates and we'll tell you all about the N900 once Nokia has finished tweaking it.
