October 28 is a very hot date in Verizon's calendar. Not only does the carrier have a scheduled press event in which it will reveal the Droid together with Motorola but it also plans to start selling the BlackBerry Storm 2 on the same date.
It all looks a little unfair to RIM and the Storm 2. This time around the Storm 2 is a far better phone than the Storm was last year so Verizon shouldn't be worried. Or has Verizon that Android might be the way to go in order to win the battle with the iPhone?
The BlackBerry Storm will be priced as follows:
-$179.99 with a $100 mail-in rebate and a 2-year contract
-$249.99 with a $100 mail-in rebate and a 1-year contract
-$539.99 off contract.
October 28 is the day when you'll have to make a decision that could affect the next 2-years of your life. Motorola Droid or BlackBerry Storm 2! You can't have both! Actually you can have both but you'd need to pay more for one or the other.
