Motorola's Droid is not the only Android smartphone coming from Verizon Wireless this year. In fact, Big Red has a cheaper Android phone scheduled for you. The Droid Eris made by HTC will be available on the same day the Droid will be sold, November 6.
The HTC Droid Eris will be available for $99.99 with a 2-year contract which makes it the cheapest Android phone available in the U.S. at this point. What will the Droid Eris have to offer? You can expect it to come with a full touchscreen display, a 528MHz Qualcomm processor, 3G support, Android 1.5 Cupcake inside and HTC's Sense UI on top.
In case the Droid and the Hero
are too expensive for your taste then maybe a more affordable HTC Droid Eris is exactly what you need. The phone resembles the HTC Hero but unlike the Hero it won't get the Android 2.0 update just yet. What Android phone are you going to buy next?
