Leaked documents have confirmed what we already know; the HTC Droid Eris is indeed coming on November 6 and it will be available for $99. Verizon will launch the cheapest Android phone in the U.S. and you'll be able to get it next Friday.
The leaked documents confirm that the HTC Droid Eris is going to offer you a 528MHz Qualcomm processor, a 320 x 480 screen, 8GB microSD card and Android 1.5 in the background.
In other words the Droid Eris is another version of the Hero which is pretty bad news for Sprint. The carrier is selling the Hero
for $179.99 and it won't be happy to see Big Red offering a similar phone for almost half the price.
On the other hand the Hero will receive the Android 2.0 update when available while there's no confirmation that the Droid Eris will also get Android 2.0 at some point in the future.
