The Chinese market is finally ready to get the iPhone. Apple has been waiting for this move for quite a while considering that China offers an impressive number of potential customers. And Chinese customers have lined up in front of China Unicom stores.
China Unicom is selling both iPhone 3G and 3GS versions. The cheapest model available is the 8GB iPhone 3G which goes for around $732 with a 3-year contract. The most expensive version is the 32GB iPhone 3GS which costs $1,025 without a contract from China Unicom.
The only problem with these iPhones is the lack of WiFi support. China Unicom plans to bring WiFi-enabled iPhones in the following months so if you happen to be one of their customers, you'd better wait before getting an iPhone. After all, why not enjoy WiFi connectivity if the hardware allows it?
