Google Maps Navigation Now Available for Android 1.6 Smartphones If you happen to own a Motorola Droid then you're probably excited about that Google Maps Navigation available for Android 2.0 phones. And since the Droid is the only Android 2.0 phone available so far it looks like Google wants to make its Google Maps Navigation system to Android 1.6 phones as well.

The company has even gone ahead and announced that the navigation app will be available for all devices running Android 1.6 or higher. That means T-Mobile G1 and MyTouch 3G users will definitely enjoy Google Maps Navigation although the app is still in beta for now.

The application can offer you voice directions between two different points, traffic info, business searches and a new Layers features which can bring you even more information.

The application can be found in the Android Market so maybe it's time for you to go ahead and grab it, especially since it's going to be available free of charge.
