LG GW990 Moorestown Smartphone Ready to Run Moblin A new mobile phone in town is ready to run a brand new mobile OS. You must have heard of Intel's Moorestown CPU and of its proprietary mobile OS, Moblin. Well in case you didn't then get ready to be amazed!

While I doubt that Intel will want to really attack the mobile business, a cell phone like LG's GW990 is more than a welcome change of scenary.

The GW990 will have a Moorestown CPU inside and it will run on Moblin OS. Other specs include a 4.8-inch panoramic widescreen display, HD Video, 3D gaming support, aGPS, Wi-Fi, HSPA support, digital compass, a 5-megapixel camera and a generous 1,850mAh battery. What's interesting about the display is that it can be split into 3 distinct vertical panels when held in landscape mode thus making everything a lot more accessible to the user.

The device is expected to arrive in the second half of the year and it's still available to admire at CES 2010.
