Android Becomes More Popular While Windows Mobile Loses More Market Share Windows Phone 7 is a very hot OS but that will not save Microsoft anytime soon. The new OS is expected to arrive by the end of the year and until then Redmond is going to lose even more marketshare to Google, Apple and RIM.

A recent study analyzing the U.S. mobile market from October 2009 to January 2010 clearly shows that Android sales have risen by 4.3% compared to October 2009 stats while Windows Mobile sales dropped as Microsoft lost 4.0% market share. RIM and Apple are reading the charts and they also on the rise with 43.0% and 25.1% market share.

Right along Microsoft, Palm is also dropping market share but unlike Redmond, Palm doesn't have any hot smartphones coming soon. We'll definitely be interested to see what will happen in the near future especially since we're waiting for some very hot Android and Windows Phone 7 handsets to hit later this year. And while we're at it, we're also seriously counting on RIM and Apple to bring their A+ game to the smartphone business later this year.
