HTC to Sell 60 Million Phones Next Year? According to a recent report HTC is confident it can triple its smartphone sales in the following year. The Taiwanese manufacturer will apparently ship 20 million devices by the end of the year but it plans to sell no less than 60 million handsets in 2011.

The number is impressive and that suggests HTC has some very hot devices lined up for the following year. The company has been primarily an Android handset manufacturer lately and has offered us quite a few interesting devices this year: the Google Nexus One, the HTC Desire, the HTC EVO 4G or the HTC Incredible are just a few of the phones conceived by the company.

But starting with October HTC's Windows Phone 7 devices have began selling in the U.S. and worldwide markets and while the progress of WP7 is still small, the new mobile OS could become an important player in the smartphone business in the following year. But will Windows Phone 7 and Android grow sufficiently in order for HTC to sell 60 million phones next year?
