Everybody nowadays are launching their own application store for mobile phones, it is a lucrative market, but when does having too many app stores become a problem? We doubt that day will be too far off.
Opera today, launched the Opera Mobile Store, this is the place where you go to download apps, just like every other app store out there, the difference is, this store will feature in the Opera Mobile Browser and possibly, Mini Opera. Currently, Opera Mobile Store features apps for Android, BlackBerry, Palm, Symbian, and Windows Mobile. If you need apps for your iPhone, Opera plans to set up apps with a link back iTunes, makes you wonder, what is the point?
We don't see this taking off, many would likely go to the official app store for their handsets, or their favorites on the web, this is what you call "dead on arrival" and nothing else.
