Nokia has always been trying to become a big player in the American mobile phone market, teaming up with the largest network might just give them the nudge they really seek.
Verizon seems to be on the right track with its 4G LTE network launch. The LTE network is being tested in three metro areas and those lucky enough to be able to test it have reported peak wireless speeds of 60Mbps. The commercial launch has been confirmed and by 2010 Verizon will officially launch it.

Clearwire and the unit of Sprint Nextel that is building the new WiMax (4G) network have successfully merged! The Clearwire name will be retained, and they will absorb Sprint's existing Baltimore-area WiMax network plus Sprint spectrum covering much of the US.
The once big bad Motorola is throwing its falling weight around the WiMAX fiasco, good to see that so maybe they will actually come with good WiMAX based phones in the near future.
The HTC MAX 4G is the first HTC phone which will get you some WiMAX support if you happen to have a WiMAX network in your neighborhood. If you happen to live in Russia then you should be happy. The Russian network "Scartel" or Yota is the network this HTC was made for. And the MAX 4G will hit the Yota marker on November 26th.
