Wholesale Applications Community Appears at MWC 2010 to Fight the App Store

There's a whole new alliance in town and it's formed of twenty four carriers around the world. Called the Wholesale Applications Community, the new organization is supposed to be an alternative to Apple's famous App Store. In other words some of the most powerful mobile operators around the world have joined forces in order to make sure that the App Store won't take over our minds.

Supporting them is the GSMA and handset manufacturers like LG, Sony Ericsson and Samsung and we expect this Wholesale Applications Community formed at MWC to bring us only good things.

Windows Mobile Developers Not Getting Their Due Money?

Some troubling reports say that some Windows Mobile developers that have paid apps in the Windows Marketplace for Mobile are experiencing payments problems. It would seem that the payment system developed by Microsoft is labeling them as "Not eligible for revenue payout" despite the fact that they do meet the $200 payout quota.

Other reports say that some developers are "Eligible for revenue payout" but the payouts are still not received by the devs in question. It all sounds just a little strange, doesn't it? After all the Marketplace can't grow with angry developers, can it?
