Sony Gaming Smartphone Coming This Month?

A hot rumor in town is saying that Sony is going to work closely with Sony Ericsson to make a gaming smartphone which should be launched officially at some point this month. The new device is rumored to use a whole new different mobile platform which could integrate PlayStation games.

It looks like Sony really wants to fight Apple's iPhone, a handset that can also act very well as a mobile gaming device. Furthermore the company will not stop there as the WSJ has confirmed two other Sony products coming soon.

A shocking and unexpected statement was made at MWC 2010. Sony Ericsson's CEO admitted that the company was given the opportunity of building the Google Nexus One for Google. Sony Ericsson refused as the company does not want to build other hardware than its own and that explains the refusal.

Looking back at the whole deal one could conclude that Sony Ericsson made the right choice not to invest time and resources in the development of the Nexus One. We all know that the phone had lots of 3G issues from the day it was launched and thus it failed to become the hit phone Mountain View officials wanted it to be.

Both the XPERIA X10 mini & mini pro poses off with a 2.55 inch capacitive touchscreen display, Android 1.6, Timescape and Mediascape apps, 3G 900/2100 HSPA and 850/1900/2100 HSPA, Wifi, and 3.5mm headphone socket. The biggest difference however is the slide out QWERTY keyboard sported by the XPERIA mini pro, it looks pretty good, Slashgear guys seem to like it.

Sony Ericsson Unveiles Xperia X10 Mini and Xperia X10 Mini Pro Handsets

While we're waiting for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 to be available in stores we have gotten word from Sony Ericsson that we will be in for more Xperia X10-related madness. In fact the company has two new phones, the Xperia X10 Mini and the Xperia X10 Mini Pro coming soon.

Although they come with different names they will have almost similar features. The only differences are the colors and the QWERTY keyboard. The Mini Pro has the full QWERTY keyboard available and it will be available in black and red while the Mini will lack the extra buttons but come in a variety of colors: black, pearl white, lime, pink, red and silver.

T-Mobile Germany to Launch Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 in April

Sony Ericsson's first Android phone, the Xperia X10 is going to be launched soon in various markets. One of them seems to be Germany where T-Mobile Germany is getting ready to offer it to its subscribers. The move seems rather logical considering that T-Mobile USA is also rumored to get the device this year.

The phone is definitely worth checking out but it's going to be too expensive if purchased without a contract. The rumored unlock pricing is somewhere around $860 which is a lot to pay for an Android phone considering that the Nexus One only costs $529 without a contract.
